Germaine Monteil, born in France, arrived in New York during the 1920's. She began working as a dressmaker and soon became famous for her usage of patterns and flattering flare skirts, sought after by her elite clientèle during the Jazz and Flapper Girl era. Germaine, a gifted cosmetician, opened her first design House in 1936 as well as setting up Germaine Monteil Cosmetiques Co the same year. Her first perfume was 'Noel' (1940). Other perfumes includes 'Laughter' (1941), 'Bakir' (1971) and L'Eau de Monteil' (1995).
Each side of this gorgeous square flacon is carved into four equally sized squares. The bottle is topped with a glass ball stopper, attached to the bottle with a silver cord. On the base is a transparent label with fragrance information. This miniature is from the 1980's.
'germaine' possesses fresh flowery top notes and green accords blended with an elegant floral heart ending with sensual and feminine base notes. The fragrance was discontinued.
